His research publications were cited in about 3600 research publications worldwide. He has guided more than 20 research scholars (PhD &amp; MS by research) and holds many patents.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"font8\"><span lang=\"EN-IN\">His teaching and research interests are Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing for Modern Mobility, Integrated Additive Manufacturing, Multi-Material Design, Surface Engineering, Electric Vehicle and Bio Tribology, Damage Tolerant &amp; Tribo Design, Design with Polymer and Nanocomposities, Network Composites &amp; Foam Structures.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"font8\"><span lang=\"EN-IN\">Prof Gnanamoorthy received his Doctor of Engineering (Dr Engg) degree from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, and served at the prestigious Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, Japan, as a regular employee before joining as a Faculty at IIT Madras in 1997.\u200b\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"font8\"><span lang=\"EN-IN\">He serves on a number of Government, Academic, and Industry committees and advisory bodies associated with the development of new Institutes, curriculum improvement and new product development. He has also served as an Expert Member of Engineering Education for Next Generation Global Engineers, Japan and part of the \u2018Global Pro-Active Root Technology Program \u2013 Doctoral Program for World-Leading Innovative &amp; Smart Education\u2019 project supported by Govt of Japan.
