TFII-Schneider Electric Center of Excellence
The Thai-French Innovation Institute (TFII), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), officially opened the TFII-Schneider Electric Center of Excellence, specializing in academic excellence in the fields of electrical/electronics engineering, automatic control systems, and modern renewable energy. This collaborative venture between academia and industry, spearheaded by the Thai-French Innovation Institute, Schneider Electric, Schneider Electric Foundation, promises to equip the next generation of professionals with the specialized skills crucial for success in fields of automation, renewable energy, and smart systems.
On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimbœuf, Ambassador of France to Thailand, along with Prof. Dr. Teravuti Boonyasopon, Chairman of KMUTNB Council Committee, Prof. Dr. -Ing. habil. Suchart Siengchin, President of KMUTNB, Mr.Mongkhon Tangsiriwit, Cluster President of Schneider Electric Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, Dr. Yossiri Ariyakul, Schneider Electric Foundation Delegate for Thailand and Laos, Mr. Arumugaraj Davitdurai Pandian, Director of ASSIST, Dr. Nirut Butsaenlee, Director of the Bureau of Vocational Education Research and Development, Office of Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), attended the opening ceremony of the TFII-Schneider Electric Center of Excellence at the Cloud 9 Meeting Room, 9th floor, Science and Technology Research Institute Building, KMUTNB.
On the same occasion, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok invited honored guests to participate in the official opening of the TFII-Schneider Electric Center of Excellence at the Computer for Industrial applications Department, 3rd floor, Science and Technology Research Institute Building, KMUTNB.
At the event, there were also demonstrations and lectures of various technologies and innovations for industries in the digital era by speakers from the Thai-French Innovation Institute and Schneider Electric covering technology for industry, for example the IOT Smart Control Panel and COBOT, which is a robot assistant for work with high efficiency, and technology for buildings and residences, for example energy monitoring systems (Power Monitoring Expert) and smart building systems.
The TFII-Schneider Electric Center of Excellence will be a part of the Thai-French Innovation Institute for developing students, faculty in higher education institutions, vocational education institutions both public and private sectors, and personnel in the industrial sector. The aim is to produce highly skilled individuals in industrial automation control systems, electric motor control systems, efficient energy management systems, SCADA systems, and electric vehicle charging as required by the industry.
In the initial phase of operation, the TFII-Schneider Electric Center of Excellence will provide training for faculty members of King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok and conduct training programs for expert trainers for technical colleges under the supervision of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, totaling 13 institutions nationwide, aim to produce teachers with knowledge and skills in using modern technology tools and equipment, then return to teach and train students in the colleges, in line with the objectives of the academic collaboration promotion project that has been implemented.
The official opening of the TFII-Schneider Electric Center of Excellence marks a significant milestone in Thailand’s pursuit of industrial excellence. This collaborative venture between academia and industry, spearheaded by the Thai-French Innovation Institute and Schneider Electric, promises to equip the next generation of professionals with the specialized skills crucial for success in fields like automation, renewable energy, and smart systems. By empowering both students and faculty across various educational institutions, the Center sets the stage for a future workforce prepared to navigate the evolving demands of the industrial landscape. This, in turn, paves the way for sustained economic growth and technological advancement, solidifying Thailand’s position as a leader in regional innovation.
