Operational Activities of Corrosion Technology

          The Corrosion Technology Department is supported by UGINE Group and Thainox Company, major stainless steel manufacturers from France and Thailand, in establishing a laboratory for research development in the field of corrosion through electrochemical techniques. They have also funded personnel training programs and graduate scholarships at institutions such as the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse (INP Toulouse) and the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INP Grenoble).

          In 2006, the department signed a collaboration agreement with PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) and TOTAL E&P Thailand to establish the first corrosion inhibitor testing laboratory in Thailand. This laboratory provides testing services for corrosion inhibitors used in the oil and natural gas industries and also supports advanced research in related technologies.

          Moreover, the Corrosion Technology Department specializes in corrosion analysis and troubleshooting, offering consulting and training services both internally and externally on a regular basis. The department has signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute for Tropical Technology (ITT) in Vietnam for joint research initiatives.
